Q: How much is a dance class?
A: Please see details on our "Dance Fees" page under the information tab
Q: Can I get a discount?
A: Yes! If you do more than 1 class each week, we will give you 10% discount on the total account. We also give 10% discount to families where more than one child is attending. (Note: maximum discount on each account is 10%)
Q: What is the youngest age for dancers?
A: Our Tiny Tot classes are suited to 3-5 years, however there are occasions when we will accept younger students (must be out of nappies!)
Q: What happens if I miss a class? Do I have to pay?
A: Yes, but we do offer a make-up lesson in another class on our timetable.
Q: Does LKM Dance have concerts?
A: Yes, a mid year (low key) concert and our end of year WOW production.
Q: Do I have to do exams?
A: No, we offer the opportunity for tap and ballet exams to those students who are interested. It is at the discretion of the Studio Director / Class Teacher as to who is ready for exams - we do not want to put students through the stress of exams if they are not ready. Dance is all about having fun!
Q: Do I have to wear a uniform & dance shoes?
A: Yes! We feel that uniforms are important to show that you are part of a team, like any other sport. It is essential that students are in correctly fitted clothing to allow teachers to view body alignment to avoid injuries. All items are available at our Springwood studio, including shoes, at competive prices (generally cheaper than the retail shops). In our mid year concert, our uniform can form the base of costumes to help save $
Q: How do I know which dance style to choose?
A: If you need some help deciding, please talk to one of our staff - they will be happy to help you!
Q: Can parents and visitors stay and watch the classes?
A: We don't have large waiting areas so we must keep the areas as clear as possible. We encourage Tiny Tot parents to stay for the first week or two but will then ask you to leave (time to go and grab a coffee). Younger students can be very distracted when mum or dad are watching. And of course, you can peek through the stars in our windows!
Q: Do I come to dancing on pupil free days and public holidays?
A: Yes, unless otherwise notified.
Q: When do classes run?
A: We follow the public school terms and generally finish a week before Christmas - check our Calendar section.
